§ 82-123. Uniform ticket for city ordinances violations; summons to appear.

  • A person charged with violation of a provision of this chapter or any other traffic or other ordinance shall be given notice to appear in circuit or magistrate court on the charge at a time specified on the ticket or notice. In the event of the failure of the person charged to appear, a warrant may be issued for the arrest of the nonappearing person. The notice to appear shall state the name and address of the offender, if known, the license number and make of the vehicle, if any, involved in the violation, and the time and place where the person charged is to appear on the charge. If a uniform ticket is issued, it shall be signed by the police officer executing it, and shall be made in triplicate, one copy to be given to the person charged with the offense or to be left in or upon the vehicle involved in the violation, one copy to be filed with the circuit or magistrate court and one copy to be filed with the police department.
